Problem
The transfer and the processing of big data loads in production is often too slow to enable real-time process monitoring and optimization.
Factories shall be enabled to use high-performance data communication and processing services that are operated at the network edges. One targeted use-case refers to the monitoring and processing of energy carrier data to minimize energy consumption in factories.

Solution
To create new service and application platforms three technologies are combined: 5G, edge computing and artificial intelligence. Sensors, machines and plant controls are integrated into this infrastructure. They provide control and production data for industrial use cases. This data is transmitted through a local 5G network to the near-use data center for real-time analysis. For data analysis, AI algorithms are used to automatically detect errors and investigate concepts for cross-site use of data. In this way, intelligent real-time control is to be realized in the factory. IconPro implements a real-time monitoring, analysis and optimization service for incoming energy carrier data.

Outcome
Open, flexible and high-performant infrastructure for communication and processing of big data loads in real time for various use-cases.
Automated detection and prediction of energy wastage for different energy carriers in factories leading to lower costs and CO2 levels.
